Heat Top Rogues in Extras, 5-4![]() The Rogues host Chico thru Sunday at Harry & David Field. Article By: MEDFORD, Ore. – Chico returned to Harry & David Field for the first time since winning the 2016 Great West League championship in southern Oregon on Friday night and defeated the Rogues 5-4 in 10 innings. The Rogues may have out-hit Chico but committed seven errors on the night. “Seven errors and 11 free bases total,” remarked Rogues Manager Josh Hogan. “It’s hard to win a game whenever you give up more than 10 free bases.” A bright spot for the Rogues was the hot bat of Jake Hellweg (Bethune Cookman), who went 2-5 with a run and RBI. “(Hellweg) is definitely an everyday guy right now,” said Hogan. “He’s swinging the bat well, he’s got good leadership out there, got a good arm in right, and tracks the ball well so we like him so far.” Jaiden France (San Jose State) got a no decision for the Rogues after tossing six innings in his Medford debut. France kept Chico off-balanced scattering two hits and striking out three. For the final box score: CLICK HERE. The Rogues host Chico thru Sunday at Harry & David Field.
