MEDFORD, Ore. – Grants Pass native Chris D’Amico (Presentation College) picked up his Rogues franchise record-breaking eighth win to lead the Medford Rogues (32-12) over the South Bay Storm (9-28) 13-5 on Thursday evening at Harry & David Field.

Caleb Broughton (Bucknell University) doubled down the left field line and Johnny Radomskiy (Presentation College) walked to put two on for Maxx Mahon (Vanguard University), who hit a line drive over the left field fence for his team-high ninth home run of the season.

Rogue Valley native Joe Johnson (Vanguard University) doubled off the right field fence to lead off the bottom of the second inning. Tyler Hollow (Dixie State) walked on four pitches. Both runners took off and the throw from Storm catcher Sam Nastari sailed wide of third base, which allow Johnson to score. Hollow scored on a fielding error on a ball hit by Broughton. Broughton stole second and scored on the RBI single by Omar Ortiz (Vanguard University).

Johnson singled through the right side with two outs in the bottom of the third. That kicked started a two-out rally, as the Rogues loaded the bases for Tre’von Dorsey. Dorsey singled to drive in Johnson from third.

Broughton walked to lead off the fourth inning. He stole second, stole third, and then scored on the RBI single by Brice Foster (Menlo College).

The Rogues loaded the bases for Jesse Spangler (Presentation College) in the fifth inning, who cleared the bases with a double down the left field line.

Turner Olson (Chico State) walked to lead off the sixth inning and eventually came around to score on a dropped third strike.

Foster doubled with two outs in the bottom of the seventh but was left stranded. That was the first inning that the Rogues were held scoreless.

D’Amico allowed four earned runs on seven hits and struck out four in 5.2 innings to pick up his GSCBL-leading and Rogues franchise record-breaking eighth win.

Rogues pitchers combined to strike out 11 Storm batters.
