MARYSVILLE, Ca. – The Medford Rogues (20-6) fell to the Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox (19-8) 3-2 at Colusa Casino Stadium on Friday night.

Right fielder Devon Canty (Menlo College) hit a line drive that caromed off the very top of the 20ft high right field wall in the second inning; he would have to settle for a double and was left stranded.

Central Point native and starting pitcher Sebasten Boivin (Feather River College) worked four innings; he allowed one run on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

With the Gold Sox leading 2-0, pinch hitters Aki Buckson (Vanguard University) and Caleb Broughton (Bucknell University) each walked on four pitches to lead off the top of the eighth inning. The Rogues then put on a successful double steal to make it second and third with nobody out. Joe Johnson (Vanguard University) hit a hard ground ball to second to score Buckson for the first Rogues run of the game and move Broughton to third with just one out.

Maxx Mahon (Vanguard University) then singled to right field to score Broughton and tie the game, but the Gold Sox scored on a RBI sac fly by Tyler Carpenter in the ninth to end it.
